This post is about a year and a half late, but this gorgeous wedding day still runs through my mind regularly, and it needed to be shared.
If you’re new here you need to know that capturing weddings is my greatest passion and I treasure the opportunity to document each heartfelt moment. From the sweet glances exchanged during the vows to the celebrations on the dance floor and everything in between.
When I first sat down with H&W and they explained their vision for their day I was instantly hooked, and 100% all in. I knew it was going to incredibly beautiful and so fun to be a part of. Picture old Hollywood glam vibes, with all the modern day sophistication. I couldn’t wait.
Finally their wedding day arrived and I started doing H’s bridal portraits.
I absolutely love bridal portraits and especially having the chance to the before the ceremony as they capture the beauty and elegance of the bride in a timeless manner with a hint of anticipation of what’s to come. Her incredible bouquet was made by Paper + Petals and was the perfect mix of deep crimson and pinks, which happened to be the most perfect contrast to her stunning off the shoulder bridal gown.
Next was meeting up with the groom who was looking dapper and every bit the part of a Hollywood film in a classic tuxedo.
Their wedding ceremony took place in the serene surroundings of a contemporary art gallery. The walls were adorned with vibrant, abstract paintings that provided a stunning backdrop for the intimate ceremony. The bride, walked down the aisle with effortless grace accompanied by her father, while W awaited her with a look of pure adoration. This gorgeous couple exchanged vows in front of their closest friends and family and was officiated by one of H’s closest friends for that extra personal touch. The minimalist aesthetic of the gallery complemented the couple's modern and artistic style, making it a truly unforgettable setting for their special day.
After some family photos, mingling and a champagne toast, we made our way to Model Citizen for their couples portraits. And it was the perfect location. An intimate dark and moody lounge with deep coloured velvet drapery on the windows & beautiful art deco details that complimented the tablescapes of singular floral stems and clean white linens. It was such a blast having all the creative ability and their trust to create some beautiful images, and I’ve got to tell you, they are some of my favourites ever. The old Hollywood glam vibes and direct flash set the tone, and well the rest is history.
Every couple has a unique story to tell. As a wedding photographer, I love capturing those intimate moments for them to have forever. The power an image holds is quite amazing and the way memories come rushing back alongside is truly special. This day was incredible and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it.
